After two months of the Brett Favre issue, he was finally traded to the New York Jets. It was very hard for him to make his decision but I hope everything will go fine. I'm just sad he had to leave us, when I say us I mean the Packers. Frowner

What are your guys thoughts?

I personally feel that he has made a mistake by coming back. He left the game as one of the most beloved athletes ever. There is not much that he could possibly add to his legacy. Even if he has a truly great season, I don't believe it would add all that much to his Hall Of Fame credentials. My point is that he doesn't have as much to gain as he has to lose. After all this fuss to get back into the game, he could potentially cause himself permanent embarassment by having a lousy season. Additionally, he has hurt his reputation with some Green Bay fans. That's a shame. A year ago, any one of those fans would have followed him into a war. Now, many of them think of him much less favorably than before.

He has taken the path of Mike Holgrem who they treated like a God and made it clear he couldn't wait to shake the dust off his feet in heading for greener pasturees. Brett would have gone down in Packer history along with Bart Starr and Vince Lombardi had he just stayed retired. He has alienated alot of fans with this episode for what will probably lead to nothing but embarrassment.

JETT Favre......Brett "the Jett"

Seriously tho, Ive always liked Brett Favre however, I'm sure glad its all over, cause the last (seems like a millenium) 2-3 months all we have heard on TV and sports radio around here is the pros and cons of him becoming a Minnesota Viking.

At the first and opening game of "MNF" against the Vikings this year at Lambeau field, they were suppose to have a big ceremony & his jersey would be retired......guess that wont be happening??

Just watch, in about five, six years, all this will be forgotten & the subject of retiring his #4 at Lambeau will be come up again, Brett will speak and start crying again and, all will be forgiven across Packer Land...and #4 will retired as a Packer...just wait a few years.
His waffling back and forth and now this, has only hurt his legacy.
I always thought of Brett to be a "stand up guy" on and off the field....I hope it all works out for him!!!!
