I live about 120 miles from Nashville and have always said I would like to go to the Hall of Fame but never have. Can anyone who has visited give me some general information? Is it "worth the trip" so to speak? How long does it take to go through? Is it a mesmerizing experience for traditional country fans?

It is well worth the trip. You will not be disappointed. First thing I would do is park near it and expect to pay a fair amount for parking or at least I did. I parked on the street and not in a lot and that was a mistake, however it worked out great as I had to go in and out of the HOF to put money in the parking meter and that is when I met our own Jim Pearson on the steps of the HOF and he told me about JohnnyCash.com

Now to answer your question, I had so little time that day I did not see it all but plan to next time I go to Nashville. You could spend a full day just reading things there. I would plan at least a couple of hours.

Also watch their web site as on occasion they have entertainers at the HOF performing special shows and or meeting people.

also try to make time for the musicians Hall of fame, it's a couple blocks away and is great too.

Herofan,

YES!!!!!!!.....it is well worth the trip......and a "must see" for any fan of Country Music....and.....YES......you will be "mesmerized" to say the least......A LOT of GREAT exibits and things to listen to and watch, also, then when you are finished you can browse around in the HOF gift shop.........plan for a couple 2-3 hours AT LEAST to enjoy the WHOLE EXPERIENCE!!!!
The times I have been there, it was always on a week end and parking was not a challenge.......and dont think it will be during the week.
Have a good time,
Jim Pearson

Last time I've been there (in 2003), I spent 3 hours inside. It was worth every minute. It's not only all the memorabilia, it's also the many clips and short movies they show.

Go, go, go! Spend as much time as you can ...it is worth every penny. I supported the initial building of the original CMHF back in the early 1960's by buying an LP I still have, and have visited there almost every time I was in Nashville over the years. The old building was fine in the beginning, but the Hall soon outgrew it, and now there is an amazing structure that does Country Music proud. Often today's stars debut their albums there ...myself and quite a few others from the Forum were honored to see Carlene Carter in just such a performance last year.
