While Office 2007 been out for almost three years, many of us are now just getting used to it. I bought my Office upgrade at about the same time the government did. My opinion is that Windows made too many changes just for change sake. At about the time when I am totally comfortable with Office 2007, guess what? They'll probably roll out a new version. Not only will you have to spend money for the upgrade, but you will no doubt be encouraged to buy an accompanying manual (not to mention the time spent to master the new version).

I stood in awe with my camera before The Man in Black. Then Johnny Cash looked down and smiled at me--freezing that moment on film and forever in my head!

I can only agree, Tom. At the end of the day, the next version of your word processor, spreadsheet, database, publisher, paint, drawing, etc does pretty much what the previous version did, admittedly sometimes with a few real improvements but generally with more memory consuming bells and whistles.

The funny thing I find about MicroSoft applications is that they seem to find it necessary to include at least 27 ways of performing each function (eg: cut or paste). Why is that? I reckon software designers should have to have the words "simple" and "elegant" tattooed backwards on their foreheads so they see them in the shaving mirror every morning before going to work.
