I just finished watching Obamas speech on CNN; then I turned to a German station to see the echoes.
He gave a very good impression. Some compared his charisma with John F. Kennedy.
His speech was very good organized; to my surprise, there were more than 200,000 people coming out to see him in person.
It was good to hear he wants to bring the US and Europe closer together and "to answer the call for a new dawn". We long for that.
It was also as matter of class and good style to not talk bad about president Bush abroad.
I liked what I saw and heard.

I agree Reimer, Obama comes across pretty well. I also liked Hilary I must admit but Obama deserved his hard fought victory. Although when I read his foreign policy he can seem a little niave I am sure he is Americas best chance to reunite its allies on the world stage. There are real tough times ahead for us all and at the helm we need someone who commands respect and has real tact and diplomacy. I believe Obama is that man and hope the American people give him a chance. As for mentioning Bush abroad why bother? Nothing anyone says is gonna make Bush's reputation any lower over here. But at least a new dawn is on its way.

Iam not sure that I will vote this year. I don't think that either one will make a good president. Hillary would have made the best president she is a very tough lady. they all promise that they are going to do things but the country is going down fast.
