Our Bubba will be nine tomorrow.. He is my heart dog.. If you have never heard this phrase it means that you LOVE all your dogs but this particular dog has part of your heart and you have bonded soul to soul.. He understands me.. He loves me with no strings attached.. He looks at me with pools of glass.. He reads my movements and knows exactly what I am going to do next.. He doesn't complain when he really wants to go for a walk and I don't have time. He howls like he is dying when I leave every morning.. He runs to the door so fast that he bangs into it when I come home every day from work or even if I have been gone five minutes..
He and I have a love that started the first time I saw him when he was 7 months old and outside in Mississippi in August except for a few minutes a day.. Happy birthday to Bubba from Toddy, Man's Best Friend Down Under (who is denying a doggy village somewhere of a village idiot).  Rappa, I once had a border collie cross who could practically read. She was so smart we had to spell when we were discussing the possibility of going for a walk or a drive. Todd is feeling no pain. I have never met such a submissive dog before. He seems to naturally accept that his place is at the bottom of the pecking order (with me) completely outranked by the cats and even the tropical fish in the aquarium. He's on easy-street, though, because he's really my son's dog and his family live in a really cold mountain village and wouldn't allow the dog in the house and would only feed him on special occasions (when they remembered) whereas here he is an honorary cat, receives cream when they do, sleeps indoors on his own bed, gets a square meal every day and has company.  No, Rappa, they can't read... But what a HAPPY furkid on Bubba's birthday when he was greeted by 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUBS"... I COULD have said "SHUT THE DOOR" and he would have been as happy..
