On the GAC Show Master Series today, Bill Cody had a full hour interview with Emmylou, who will be inducted into the CMHF later this month. Near the end of the show, she spoke of her influences, and how she felt about The Original Carter Family. She spoke about how important Maybelle's guitar is and how important it is to keep it in the CMHF, and about a song she has recently recorded as a salute to Sara Carter. Good stuff...check it out if you get that show.

I just love Emmy Lou....if anyone can keep the Carter family music alive, she can.

Thanks Terry...wish I got GAC, all I get is CMT which I don't know why they call it country music tv show anymore unless you like "tricked out trucks" or non-stop "country fried videos" :0

Cheryl: I agree with you. I also only receive CMT. The "M" stands for mystery; why do they have so little (country) music? There are many die-hard country music fans that would guarantee a very large and devoted fan base if CMT would only offer it to us.

Sorry you two do not get that and if I knew how to make a dvd of it, I would...it was a very worthwhile hour.

Emmylou has a new cd out, and she has written a great song in tribute to AP and Sara called "How she sang the Wildwood Flower." Emmylou wrote it after seeing the wonderful PBS documentary on the Carter Family -- Will You Miss Me When I'm Gone. I downloaded this song onto my Ipod...and I highly recommend it. Emmylou captured the tortured romance of Sara and AP in her song.

Joan, I checked that out, and yes you can listen to all the songs. Kern River is another good one there...a Merle Haggard song I always liked, and Emmylou does a great job on it.

The song "How She Sang The Wildwood Flower" is so touching....Emmylou really got into the heart and soul of Sara and AP.

It is a really good song. The whole album is really good from what I've heard of it. Worth the money for sure! Beautiful voice and beautiful songs. Couldn't expect less from Emmylou!

I noticed Emmylou's new album is on the Nonesuch label. Is this a new label for her or has she recorded with them before?

(I'm a big Emmylou fan, but really haven't kept up with here since the "SpyBoy" days.)
