Johnny and June first met in 1956, though they weren't married until 1968.

"The story goes that my father walked up to her, and that the reason he came (to the Grand Ole Opry that night) was he wanted to meet her. And he said, 'I'm going to marry you one day' here between these walls, and she said, 'Sure.'
They were both married (to other people) at the time. That's pretty unusual."

Great finds, Marion....thank you so much. When we were at Cashbash 08, we had the opportunity to get a "private" concert from Carlene at the CMHF Museum Store. She was promoting her new cd, Stronger, and she sang songs from that cd, but also other songs...and talked about her family and their history. She sang Dixie Darling when she spoke of "Grandma" Maybelle, and "Aunt Sara."

It was really special, Chief. I had a small tape recorder and taped it on a micro-cassette...would love to be able to put it on a cd and share...but have no idea how to do that. If anyone has any ideas, let me know....

Hi Terry,
If your micro-cassette has an earphone outlet, you can take it and the tape to anyone with analog inputs on their CD Recorder (the inputs would be RCA plug inputs). My recorder has that and maybe someone in your town does, too. You could maybe call a recording studio in town and ask them. They may charge you a per hour charge but it may be worth it. If you and I lived closer I'd do it for ya. Email me please as I have more detailed information that may help you! musicgren@hotmail.com
Best wishes Terry!
Lisa

Terry, I've just converted some of my cassettes to mp3 files, which I can easily burn to cd.

Does your mini recorder have a regular size earphone jack? Meaning the same size plug as a portable cd player or such?

Even if it has the micro small plug, I have an adapter I bought to use regular headphones on my mp3 player.

It's just a simple matter of using a patch cord from your player/recorder to the auxiliary input on the back of my pc, then just hit play and I'll record the entire tape, do some sound enhancing, (if needed), then make each song an individual track so when you get the cd's, you can skip from song to song, if need be.

I'd be glad to help you, but you'd have to send player and tape to me, and I could make a couple of copies for you and send both copies, your player, and tape back.
