Cheryl, that is Becky Bowman. We heard from a relative of hers that she died recently. She came to sing with the Carters when Helen was off a lot having her children. She and June became great friends, and in fact, June named her first daughter for Becky -- Rebecca Carlene.

Seems they had a thing in that family for using the middle name ....ala Valerie June, Ina Anita and Rebecca Carlene.

"June was my solid rock. She was always there. She was my counselor, comforter, everything else. What a wonderful woman she was."....from the Final Interview with Kurt Loder in Bill Miller's book, Cash - An American Man.

Johnny and June first met in 1956, though they weren't married until 1968.

"The story goes that my father walked up to her, and that the reason he came (to the Grand Ole Opry that night) was he wanted to meet her. And he said, 'I'm going to marry you one day' here between these walls, and she said, 'Sure.'
They were both married (to other people) at the time. That's pretty unusual."

Besides Rosey, Helen's sons (Danny, David and Kevin Jones) and Anita's daughter (Lorrie) are featured. In the group of two to the left, Danny is playing guitar, and Kevin is standing beside him. In the group of three, David is playing guitar, and Lorrie is standing between David and Rosey.

The clip is from "The Unbroken Circle," a nationwide television tribute remembering Mother Maybelle.

Many more Carter videos can be seen on Lorrie's myspace page which I mentioned in an earlier thread.
