OK, I know I'm getting way ahead of things here, but the 40th anniversary of San Quentin is looming, and we have to do something to mark the occasion. I've already suggested this on the main forum. This is just an idea, and can of course be developed.
Lots of us have put our version of JC songs on the net. Suppose we give our songs a mention here, then we all pick out the best, just like an international song contest, and make a tribute album, for launch at San Quentin anniversary/Cash Bash 2009. We would need Bill's help with this, and I suggest that profits would go to a charity of his choice.
I know some mignt say that there may not be a Cash Bash in 2009, but hey, we can call it something else if necessary, we won't get this opportunity for another 10 years.

The idea is good.
I remember that we put together an internet band in 2001 to celebrate Kristoffersons 65th birthday. And we did, on a stage at "Legends Corner" at Nashville Broadway for 3 hours on a Saturday, I think it was June 22, his exact birthday. I was so shy I played my dobro unplugged, so the chord mistakes wouldn't be heard...
We prepared everything by email, and had a rehearsal at the hotel one day before. All went well. We did 3 hours of Kris music, and videotaped everything. Great memories.

I saw Kris in Dublin 2 weeks ago and he was brilliant. Just him and his guitar and you could hear a pin drop. I still can't believe I was that close to a great friend of Johnny. He mentioned him too which was nice. A great gig. Fond memories.
