I just saw Terry Lee Goffee in concert last night. He and his band gave a very professional, entertaining show. I thought Terry's voice sounded quite a bit like Johnny's 1950's voice. He also throws in a little hoarse voice effect now and then that sounds like Johnny on the San Quentin album. The set was 26 songs and covered a lot of ground. I didn't expect him to open with Train of Love. (Actually a medley of Train of Love/Cry, Cry, Cry/Hey, Porter) I also didn't expect to hear Highway Patrolman, Luther Played the Boogie, Johnny Yuma, One Piece at a Time, or Cocaine Blues. Nothing from American or Mercury, though.
If Terry Lee Goffee comes to your town, I recommend seeing his show.
