Okay, the song-title game looks like it was a popular thread, so I have one.
A couple of years ago, I posted a thread asking for any name of any public figure (entertainment, politics, literature, sports, whatever, living or dead). I would then connect Johnny Cash to that person in fewer than six steps. Usually I could do it in two or three steps.
I retired the thread undefeated--and people threw all sorts of obscure and unusual challenges at me.
An example would be: BING CROSBY
Answer: BING CROSBY appeared in seven films with BOB HOPE, who appeared as guest on an ABC TV show hosted by...JOHNNY CASH.
That was two steps, and it was an easy one. But it demonstrates how this works. So throw some names out there and let's see what happens.
The only stipulation is that the person you name must have been alive at some point in the 20th century ,and must have achieved some degree of notoriety in some field. This rules out "My Uncle Fred" and "King Tut," although connections could probably be found to even those kinds of folks if I had the time to research them.
You do not have to have established a connection to throw out a name. Just think of somebody and let 'er rip.
I tried to revive this "game" several months ago, Randy, and didn't get much response. Maybe you'll have better luck than I did.

There are at least a dozen ways to connect Cash with Van Zant, but here's just one:
RONNIE VAN ZANT wrote "Sweet Home Alabama" as an angry response to "Southern Man," written by NEIL YOUNG, who also wrote "Pocahontas," which was recorded by...JOHNNY CASH (released on "Unearthed.")
Kelli, I guess I was away when you tried to revive "Six Degrees." The exercise ought to be good until we run out of famous people, so hopefully it'll catch on again.
Major League Baseball pitcher ROY OSWALT has just appeared in a music video of the song "Find Out Who Your Friends Are" by country singer TRACY LAWRENCE who was inducted into the Arkansas Music Hall of Fame with...JOHNNY CASH.
Boxer OSCAR DE LA HOYA was managed by BOB ARUM, who also managed MUHAMMAD ALI and arranged for a pre-fight visit between Ali and...JOHNNY CASH. (This visit between legends was at the Ali-Spinks rematch in New Orleans in 1978).

Clap, clap, clap..... thought I might have ya! I'll keep trying to "Stump the Schwab" or rather "Stump the Noles". I'm going to have to check out that video.

At the 1992 Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, the final jam session was a version of "Purple Haze," written by Hall of Famer JIMI HENDRIX and performed by the 1992 honorees, including...JOHNNY CASH.
(There are many orther ways to connect Cash to Hendrix, including about a dozen through mutual Woodstock acquaintances, but I like this one because it involves Cash performing a Hendrix song onstage.)
