Reimer--Nice try, but I would think that Dave and Mike would have to be related for it to count, which is possible. This was a tough one and mine is a stretch:
MIKE ROWE narrates "Ghost Hunters," a TV show based on cases from The Atlantic Paranormal Society, which investigated the haunting of Rose Hall Plantation by ANNIE PALMER, who was immortalized in a song by...JOHNNY CASH.
(The reason it's a stretch is the the Annie Palmer thing has not been made into a segment for "Ghost Hunters," although Cash did appear on "Most Haunted Places" talking about Rose Hall. Mike Rowe has also done commercials for Ford trucks, and I'm certain that a Cash song was used in the last several years for a Ford trucks commercial but I don't specifically recall what it was so can't use that link.)

I don't even have to find an intermediary for the Cash Knoxville connection--the two were personal friends and Cash was Knoxville's hero. Knoxville lobbied to get the Cash role in "Walk the Line" and bought a rustic home from Cash (not the recording studio, as has been reported).

I think Knoxville would have done a fantastic job in this role although Joaquin would have been hard to beat! Try Lee Trevino the golfer. I'm sure you'll get this one, too.

There would be a number of musical connections to Tommy Boyce, but this one comes to mind first:
BOYCE AND HART wrote "Last Train to Clarksville," the first big hit for THE MONKEES, who appeared on the ABC TV show hosted by...JOHNNY CASH.
(In fact, on the show Cash introduces the boys--minus Peter Tork--by singing the first few lines of "Last Train to Clarksville," so it could be said that Cash himself performed a Tommy Boyce song at least once.)

The BBC recently aired a program called "The Trial of TONY BLAIR," the premise of which was that the British prime minister should be tried for his support of the Iraq War. The closing song of the film was "I Hung My Head" performed by...JOHNNY CASH.

I'm not proud of this one--maybe somebody else has a better connection.
LEE TREVINO was a major rival of JACK NICKLAUS, who has a chicken recipe in a "Taste of Home" cookbook alongside a chili recipe from...JOHNNY CASH
