Thanks Mike an Awesome song!
Johnny and June first met in 1956, though they weren't married until 1968. "The story goes that my father walked up to her, and that the reason he came (to the Grand Ole Opry that night) was he wanted to meet her. And he said, 'I'm going to marry you one day' here between these walls, and she said, 'Sure.' They were both married (to other people) at the time. That's pretty unusual." Thanks, Mike! I thought of you and the others while in Memphis the past two days! I have such fond memories of the Cash Celebration in 2005 in Memphis; what a great time!
Just don't try to cut through that parking garage like we all did every night to get to the venue on Beale Street; they had the nerve to put up a fence, how dare them! lol "Friendship isn't about who you have known the longest...but about who came and never left your side" |

Here's another version of the video, with better picture quality – and the correct date: April 12, 1985.

The more you see videos of Johnny, it's more and more obvious that there has never been anyone else like him. In the age of Rock-a-billy, he was Johnny Cash. In the age of Rock & Roll, he was Johnny Cash. In the age of New Country, he was Johnny Cash........No one else even on the same planet with him.

Larry, you are so right on! Johnny is ageless. He is and was the bestest in any age. Like fine wine, the CASH sound improves with age. He will be with us forever, and "I still miss someone."
